NurseCare vaccinates all employees against flu - in both public and private organisations. The public programme only offers free vaccination to certain groups (e.g. people aged 65+, pregnant women and people with chronic illness), so the vast majority of employees are not covered. By offering vaccination at the workplace, you make sure the whole team can be protected - during working hours, without each person having to arrange it themselves. More and more companies are doing it, and more and more employees are accepting. The vaccination takes place during working hours in designated meeting rooms at your workplace.
Vaccination can take place in a private room or in an open setting. The vaccine is given in the upper arm muscle, so people can keep their clothes on. After vaccination, people are advised to stay near the nurse for 15 minutes in case an allergic reaction occurs.
Flu vaccination also gives indirect protection against middle ear infection, sinusitis, pneumonia and bronchitis - all possible complications of flu.
Flu vaccination cannot guarantee 100% protection against flu, but it shortens the illness. NurseCare's view is that getting a flu vaccination should always be a free choice. However, NurseCare also believes that the more people who are vaccinated, the greater the chance of a limited epidemic and therefore fewer people infected.
