According to the Danish patient handbook on sundhed.dk, 20-25% of adults have high blood pressure - and it becomes more common with age. Most have no symptoms. High blood pressure increases the risk of stroke and heart attack, but the risk depends on your overall profile.
That is why it makes sense to look at several numbers together: blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar - and ideally your fitness level. One measurement is a snapshot. Measure again, and you see the direction.
At the health check, we go through your numbers with you and explain what they mean. If a value is high, we recommend that you follow up with your own GP, who can repeat the measurement and assess your overall risk.
If you have chest pressure or pain, shortness of breath or sudden paralysis, call 112 - do not wait for a check.
With a health check at work, all employees have their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar measured during working hours - with a fitness test as an add-on.
NurseCare offers health checks with blood pressure, cholesterol and long-term blood sugar, a fitness test (VO2 max) and a cholesterol blood test without a referral at the clinic at Rømersgade 3 in Copenhagen K - and health checks at workplaces throughout Denmark. Measurements are carried out by experienced healthcare professionals, and at the health check you get your results straight away.
